St. Louis Abbey Crest

Our coat of arms was granted to us by Queen Elizabeth II. It inherits heavilly from our mother house and grandmother house, Ampleforth and Westminster. The Saint Mary's Rose represents both our tie to York/Yorkshire and our patron Saint Mary. The fleur de lis represent our tie to Saint Louis, and our other patron Saint Louis IX King of France. The blue field at the bottom represents the Mississippi. At the bottom of the crest is our motto, Laus Tibi Domine, or "Praise to you Lord".
