Holy Week Homily

Jesus died to gather into one the dispersed children of God. As the Good Shepherd he

was to lay down his life that there be one flock and one shepherd. At the Last Supper he prayed

that all may be one as he and the Father are one. We so yearn for that unity in our polarized

world today, that sharing of all men and women in the life of the Holy Trinity. Let us pray

earnestly in Holy Week for that unity for which the Lord gave his life, both in the world at large

and in our own families and communities. May we be an emblem of the Church, a people made

one with the unity of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
